Unlimited mintage 1 oz gold coins

Unlimited mintage means that there is an unrestricted number of coins that are struck. The mint will keep producing the coin according to demand. The mintage usually runs until the end of the year, and then a new design with the year is released.

Some mints keep a running tally of how many coins have been minted, while others will release the total mintage once the run has finished.

Limited mintage 1 oz gold coins

Limited mintage (or maximum mintage) has a set number of coins that will be minted. Once the maximum mintage is reached the coin will no longer be produced.

Some of these have a small run, so they can be hard to obtain. Not every gold dealer sells these either, so if you are interested in collecting then look around and see who sells them. Also find out when the mintage begins, so you have a better chance of getting a coin.
